REDMOND - Sophomore forward Stine Schoening had two goals and an assist as Woodinville captured the KingCo 4A Conference’s No. 2 state-playoff berth with a 4-1 win over Redmond Thursday night.
Erin McDevitt had a pair of assists for the Falcons (14-4), who got to state with consecutive KingCo tournament wins over Lake Washington, Inglemoor and Redmond. Eastlake won the conference title and top state seed with a win over the Mustangs Tuesday night.
Redmond (8-5-4) still has a chance to advance to state and will play at Prairie, the No. 2 Greater St. Helens League team, at 2 p.m. Saturday in a winner-to-state, loser-out game.
Northwest 3A
Everett 7, Sedro-Woolley 0 (1st place, winner to state)
In Mount Vernon, Valerie Stahl had a pair of goals and Sele Vance assisted on the first three goals as the Seagulls claimed the district championship and top seed to the state playoffs.
Meadowdale 1, Arlington 0 (loser out)
Madelyn Null scored in the 79th minute to break a scoreless tie as the Mavericks stayed alive. Meadowdale plays Sedro-Woolley at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Vernon in a winner-to-state, loser-out game for the district’s No. 2 state berth.
Metro League
Holy Names 3, Nathan Hale 0 (3rd place, loser out)
At the Southwest Athletic Complex, Emma Woods scored nine minutes into the game and the Cougars got a shutout from goalkeepers Alexes Lopez-Shaw and Natalie Gellos to keep their state-playoff hopes alive. Nathan Hale plays at Skyline, the KingCo 3A runner-up, at 1 p.m. Saturday a winner-to-state, loser-out game.
Tonight at 7:30, Lakeside plays Seattle Prep for the Metro League title and Sea-King’s No. 1 seed to state. The Lakeside-Prep loser will be the district’s No. 4 state representative.
KingCo 3A
Skyline 2, at Bellevue 1 (2nd place, loser out)
Kiara Williams and Barbara Holladay scored as the Spartans stayed alive. Skyline led 2-0 before Paige Johnson’s goal for Bellevue in the 74th minute.
Skyline (15-3) will host Holy Names or Nathan Hale, Metro’s No. 3 team, at 1 p.m. Saturday in a winner-to-state, loser-out game. Issaquah previously clinched KingCo’s top seed to state.
