Infospace will distribute $300 million to shareholders
Bellevue-based InfoSpace said Thursday it will distribute to shareholders a special cash dividend of $9 a share, or about $300 million..
In September, InfoSpace sold Switchboard.com, an online yellow- and white-pages business, to Dallas-based Idearc for $225 million in cash.
Infospace said it plans another distribution to shareholders once it completes the sale of its mobile services business to Motricity for $135 million in cash.
The special distribution announced Thursday will be paid around Jan. 8 to shareholders of record at the close of business Dec. 10.
After selling the two units, InfoSpace continues to be in the online search business with sites such as Dogpile.com.
